I had first seen/shot illScarlett when they came to Saint John with Billy Talent. Their reggae-infused rock sound had left a great impression on me, so I was really excited to find out that they would be playing not once but twice in Fredericton on their current tour.
The first show was on Valentine’s Day at the University of New Brunswick’s SUB Ballroom. Between songs lead singer and rhythm guitarist Alex entertained the crowd with tour stories including how he might be arrested the next time he returns to Halifax – which was incidentally the next stop on the tour. My personal highlight of the show was their version of Rihanna’s "Umbrella" that they performed during their encore.
