The Really, Really Ridiculously Good Looking Tour pt 1/ January 18 2007 / NYC

So I shot four shows on the RRRGL tour and no two shows were alike. Here’s part 1 of 4. Expect delicious, delicious hijinks. And some Ben Stiller later on.

Doug

So, Doug always manages to flat-out amaze me every time I see him play. I was so excited to hear that he was playing a few dates on this tour and he did not disappoint. He is the jazzified version of pop-punk in a fedora and you’d better pick up his album if you know what’s good for you.

The Cab

The Cab scares me in a really, really good way. A band that’s this good before even releasing their first full-length album just means that you should expect big, big things from them. The way they manage to combine genres is mind-boggling. Check them out now because by the end of the year they’re going to be everywhere.

We The Kings

I was really excited to finally see We The Kings perform live since their album has been on permanent rotation on my iPod. They were awesome to watch and sound great live. There was even a nice acoustic performance at the end of their set of a song that’s featured on One Tree Hill, “This Is Our Town,” which is probably going to be everyone’s Top Ten Songs of ‘08 lists.

Metro Station

Oh man, just go get their album now. Photos can’t even begin to capture Metro Station’s live performance. They are a damn dance party and you will not be able to get their songs out of your head, not that you’d ever want to. I wish I had more photos of them from this show but, to be honest, I was too busy dancing like a damn fiend. And I don’t dance. Ever.

Cobra Starship

Oh, The Cobras, how so awesome? How does this band even exist? It’s like I dreamed them up. Cobra Starship is one of the few bands that will get me to travel 12 hours just to see them perform live. The Cobras make late-80’s and early 90s culture very effing cool.
